sandy and mourn the lives loft from this disaster. of course the giants share a deep history with new york and our prayers go out to everyone on the east coast affected by this disaster and the red cross in those regions they really need our help everybody and we encourage you to donate for the relief fund at red cross .org and the giants players are going to make donations and the giants' organization is going to match the donations by the employers. just think everybody here today and 1 dollar from all of us. that can really help and donate at red cross .org and we thank you for your generosity. it was just two years ago that we captured the championship since moving to san francisco and i think we're happy we didn't have to wait until 52 years. as the keepers of the western door. they're on the western side of new york and they're the biggest of the tribes. i'm the one -- i'm the one that creeks that runs through our reservation now. indian community -- there was nothing in the beginning. for 20 years that i work in the school district helping the children understand that their heritage was important, and important to be proud of being indian, and so that gave them reasons to study harder and to be a better student and stay in school. where you come from is important and what your background is and your family, so we have to have indian education. i don't think i'm a hero. i just had a job to do, and did it with the children at the school district, but i also like to include the whole community. that's why we put on the powwows and have different events where everyone could attend. be proud that you're indian. >> so we would like to present gwen with this local hero's award from kqmd. thank you very much for what you have done for the community, for yourself and the community and all the relations and gwen is going to be saying

]. >> i have to admit, i live in new york state so i'm not quite as familiar with all of the local laws, but i do know that there are concerns that if you don't have the double extractors, you don't do the full filtering, that there still is residue. i don't know the particulars of what you're using so i want to be very careful. in terms of would it ellay my concerns if you have means that should be getting things out into the air, in terms of the safety of your internal fire house if i understand your question, not really, but certainly whatever you can do is best and i think one of the things connie alluded to, first of all, is you do what you can and you start every step one step at a time, okay, it's important to be doing frequent testing of your air though if you have concerns to make sure that whatever your systems are, whether they are the legally mandated or the extra steps that you've put in place or the ways ta you've figured out to get around things that you make sure it's your lives, it's your children's lives na you're doing the most, so i would recommend local testing as m

, this legislation will allow us to establish, along with the best practices that are going on in new york, chicago, and the sunlight foundation, that is to create a position in the city, basically establishing a data office, an open data officer for the city, somebody that's going to help jay naff. jay is like our external innovation officer. he's helping me connect up all the time with all of the different companies in the city that are establishing and creating things. but i need somebody on the inside. we have a 60-department bureaucracy. they're still working in a lot of different silos and one of the things that we still have to do is get them on a higher level of sharing their data. so, establishing a chief data officer for the city that will work with all the different departments, establish some additional standards for them to create pinpoints in every department of what their data is, what they may not be aware of that they're collecting and computers in our departments and allow that data to flow out. this will be a good addition and a great improvement. it is part of the best practices

as i mentioned, they are really active in open data. and new york, again with 3 in 1 is doing smart analytics. i think that's what you'll see happening as well, government starts to become smarter, make better decisions, better policies. this term algorithmic regulation, which means you can have laws and policies in the cities determined by data and not just what we think is best, but what's actually best. so, as cities keep catching on and more and more with the data, you're going to see some really interesting things coming out. >> cool. while we're talking about data, another part of the announcement today was also motion loft making private data available within sort of that initiative and that website wrieri'd like to hear a little more, john, about kind of deciding to share that data with the city and also a lot of times especially with other companies you see them being very protective of their data. there is a lot of value there. how do you sort of balance, protecting the value of your data and commercial viability versus making it available to the public? >> so, we have a u
